Yesterday, I had a very long heart to heart with God. I realized that all of what I've been studying for two weeks was sinking into my brain, but there was no action taking place. I felt very hallow and hypocritical. I prayed that God would allow my heart to open up to Him and trust His will for my life. I prayed for Him to fill me with a new desire for my husband and an attitude of servanthood.
He answers prayers! I went home and I was able to take some time with my husband and apologize for not being the wife to him that he deserves. We had a great conversation, with loads of tears. In order for me to serve God and be the wife I've been called to be, I had to ask for forgiveness for the attitudes and behaviors that are not of a Godly woman. I also have to open myself and FULLY trust God!
Verses for the day:
Psalm 119:33-37
Teach me, O lord, to follow your decrees; then I will keep them to the end. Give me understanding, and I will keep your law and obey it with all my heart. Direct me in the path of your commands, for there I find delight. Turn my heart towards your statutes and not toward selfish gain. Turn my eyes away from worthless things; preserve my life according to your word. ~Amen
Dear Lord,
Teach me your ways, give me wisdom to understand and stay on your path. Guide me and show me your way, not my way, to be the wife You desire me to be. Turn my heart to crave Your desires for my life and to be in relationship with You, so I can better serve my husband. Turn me away from meaningless arguments and petty knit picking so we can enjoy the marriage You have given us.
Psalm 119:41-48.
